If you just spent all your cash on what goes under the tree and are having trouble with finding more for stocking stuffers here are some ideas to help your inner elf.
Candy
You can buy a bag and make it stretch for all the stockings. The closer you are to Christmas Eve the greater the chance of finding that bag marked down. Many families put a pack of gum in each stocking--I grew up looking for that Juicy Fruit!
Cookies/Homemade Fudge
If you have the ingredients in your kitchen already, make cookies or fudge and wrap individual pieces in cellophane with some ribbon.
Homemade Silly Putty
2 cups white school glue
1 cup liquid starch
Mix together and set aside until dry. Store in an airtight container.
Cinnamon Apple Clay
1 cup applesauce
1 cup flour
1 cup cinnamon
1/2 cup white school glue
Food coloring
Mix together in a bowl and add food coloring. Refrigerate for a few hours until the clay is firm.

Homemade Journal
Create a homemade journal for your young writer with a printable journal page from Activity Village. Print out the page and put it in a paper notebook or make one out of construction paper. You can also create a notebook cover but cutting up old cereal boxes and covering them with holiday paper.
Doorhanger
You can print out all kinds of doorhangers from Kidprintables so she can hang up that "Diva in Training" on her doorknob. Again, print them out and glue them to something stable like an old cereal box or cardstock if you have it.
Dot to Dot Book
Make a Dot to Dot book. Print out all six dot to dot puzzles at Kid Printables and then make a pretty cover for your book. Staple together or join the sides with a ribbon. If your child doesn't like dot to dot you could the same thing with mazes, crosswords, or wordsearches. All of these things are available online for free.
